Doris Phipps for Caesar Rodney School Board

Are you happy with the education system in the Caesar Rodney School District?  Maybe you are, maybe you aren't.  A lot of that depends on what grade your student is in, which school they're attending, what curriculum they're following, and whether or not your family has made the decision to send them to a local vocational or charter school.  Maybe your student attends the local parochial schools or you don't have students attending school in the district.

Either way, we all have an interest in the delivery of quality education to our students.  The question we must ask ourselves is whether or not we should accept the quality currently on offer or if we should always strive to do better.

Doris Phipps is running for the Caesar Rodney School Board.  She is not the incumbent board member seeking reelection this year.  She offers a different perspective.  Her three children have all come through Caesar Rodney District Schools, but all of them at one time or another left those schools.  Doris then experienced being a parent of students at charter schools and vocational schools.  This offers her a unique perspective on education, and a unique place in her heart for parental choice and students that are not being adequately served by a one-size-fits-all public school system.

While there is no doubt that the Caesar Rodney District's schools do very well for many of its students, it is important that someone serve on the School Board who can offer the perspective of those students who are, despite the best efforts of teachers and administrators, left behind.  Doris does not have an axe to grind.  Doris does not have an agenda.  Doris simply carries a different perspective and a strong desire to serve the students and families in her community, and help them as they seek to educate themselves for the challenges of the 21st century.

Please support Doris by coming to the polls on May 8th.
